Trad AI uses its own securely managed OpenAI API key to provide AI-assisted translation. Users do not need to create an OpenAI account, obtain an API key, paste credentials into Trad AI, or maintain separate OpenAI API billing.
How the managed integration works
When you submit content for AI-assisted translation, Trad AI prepares the translation request and sends the required content and instructions to OpenAI through Trad AI’s server-side API integration. The resulting translation is then returned to the Trad AI workflow for document reconstruction, review, and export.
Why Trad AI manages the API key
Centralised credential management removes API setup from the user workflow and allows Trad AI to apply consistent security controls, model configuration, usage accounting, and plan limits. OpenAI API credentials are not exposed in the browser or user interface.
Data handling
Customer Content is processed only as needed to provide the requested functionality and is handled in accordance with the Trad AI Privacy Policy and the applicable OpenAI terms and data-processing arrangements. Trad AI does not use Customer Content to train its own general AI models.
For users, the workflow remains simple: choose the translation settings, upload or enter the source content, translate, review, and export. No separate OpenAI API configuration is required.
