Disclaimer

This Disclaimer explains the limits of AI-assisted translation, user responsibility, human review requirements, token-based usage, data handling and liability limitations.

Effective date: 1 May 2026

This Disclaimer applies to your access to and use of Trad AI, including our website, AI-assisted translation platform, file processing features, translation memory generation, account features, subscription plans, token-based usage features and related services (together, the “Service”).

This Disclaimer should be read together with our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If there is a conflict between this Disclaimer and the Terms of Use, the Terms of Use will prevail to the extent of that conflict.

1. Purpose of this Disclaimer

Trad AI is designed to support professional translation workflows by providing AI-assisted translation, wide-context processing, terminology consistency support, translation memory generation and related productivity features.

This Disclaimer explains important limitations of the Service, including the limitations of AI-generated output, the need for human review, token-based usage constraints, user responsibility for Customer Content and the limits of Trad AI’s liability.

By using the Service, you acknowledge and accept these limitations.

2. Nature of the Service

Trad AI provides an AI-assisted translation workflow. The Service may use third-party AI models and APIs, including models provided by OpenAI or other providers.

Depending on your plan and configuration, AI processing may be provided through Trad AI-managed infrastructure, a user-provided API key, or an enterprise deployment agreed separately.

The Service is intended to assist translation and post-editing workflows. It is not a replacement for professional judgement, specialist review, legal advice, medical advice, financial advice, regulatory advice, sworn translation or certified translation.

3. AI-assisted translation and limitations

Translations and related outputs generated through the Service are AI-assisted machine translation outputs.

AI systems may produce output that is inaccurate, incomplete, inconsistent, misleading, stylistically inappropriate, terminologically inconsistent, unsuitable for a particular jurisdiction, audience or purpose, affected by source-text ambiguity, affected by document formatting or file-conversion issues, or affected by model limitations, context limits or technical constraints.

AI systems may misunderstand context, nuance, idioms, legal concepts, medical terminology, financial terminology, cultural references, formatting, abbreviations, names, dates, numbers, tables or specialist terminology.

The Service may support translation quality, consistency and productivity, but it cannot guarantee that any output is error-free, complete, legally valid, publication-ready or suitable for a specific professional purpose without human review.

4. Human review and MTPE

All generated translations and related outputs must be reviewed, verified, edited and approved by a qualified human reviewer before being relied upon or provided to third parties.

This review process may include machine translation post-editing, linguistic revision, terminology verification, factual checking, formatting review, legal or subject-matter review and final approval.

Human review is especially important for legal documents, contracts, court documents, immigration documents, medical documents, pharmaceutical documents, financial documents, insurance documents, public-sector communications, regulatory filings, official submissions, employment documents, safety-critical materials, marketing claims, documents intended for publication, and certified, sworn, notarised or otherwise official use.

You are solely responsible for determining the level of human review required for your use case.

5. No professional advice or certified translation

Trad AI does not provide legal, medical, financial, tax, regulatory, immigration or professional advice.

Generated output must not be treated as legal advice, medical advice, financial advice, tax advice, regulatory advice or a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.

Trad AI does not provide certified, sworn, notarised or official translations unless this is expressly agreed in a separate written agreement with a qualified human professional or authorised provider.

You must not present AI-generated or AI-assisted output as human-certified, sworn, official, notarised or professionally approved unless it has been reviewed and approved by a suitably qualified human translator, reviewer, professional or authorised body.

6. High-impact and regulated use

The Service is not intended to make automated decisions about individuals or to determine legal rights, access to services, eligibility, employment, credit, healthcare, immigration status, education outcomes or other high-impact matters.

If you use translations generated through the Service in high-impact, regulated or sensitive contexts, you are responsible for obtaining appropriate professional review, verifying accuracy and completeness, checking compliance with applicable law, checking jurisdiction-specific terminology, preserving required records, obtaining required consents, and ensuring that the output is suitable for the intended purpose.

You must not rely on unreviewed AI-generated output for decisions that may affect legal rights, health, safety, financial interests, employment, immigration status, access to essential services or other significant interests of individuals.

7. Token-based usage disclaimer

Paid plans may include monthly token allowances. Additional usage may be available on a pay-as-you-go basis, depending on your plan and account settings.

A token is a technical unit used by AI systems to process text, instructions, files and generated output. Token counts are not equivalent to word counts, character counts, page counts or file size.

Token usage may include input text, output text, system instructions, context, document structure, formatting-related processing, translation memory generation, retries, quality-control steps and other AI-processing operations required to provide the Service.

Token allowances are technical and billing limits. They are not guarantees of a specific number of words, pages, files or documents that can be translated.

Actual token consumption may vary based on language pair, source-text complexity, document length, formatting, tables, file type, context size, instructions, translation memory generation, retries, model behaviour and technical processing requirements.

Estimated token usage, where shown, is indicative only. The usage records generated by the Service are the basis for calculating actual token consumption.

8. Customer Content and user responsibility

You are responsible for all Customer Content submitted to the Service.

You represent that you have all necessary rights, licences, permissions, consents and lawful bases to submit Customer Content for processing and translation.

You must not submit Customer Content that infringes intellectual property rights, breaches confidentiality obligations, violates privacy or data protection rights, contains unlawful material, contains malware or malicious code, violates applicable law, violates the rights of third parties, or violates our Terms of Use or applicable AI provider policies.

You are responsible for checking whether Customer Content may lawfully be translated, processed, stored, transmitted, exported, published, shared or commercially used.

Trad AI is not responsible for claims arising from Customer Content submitted by users or from the use, publication, distribution or reliance on generated output.

9. Data protection and confidentiality

Trad AI treats Customer Content as confidential and uses it only as necessary to provide, secure, support and maintain the Service, comply with law and enforce applicable terms.

Trad AI does not use Customer Content to train its own general AI models.

Trad AI does not sell Customer Content.

Trad AI does not use Customer Content for advertising or marketing.

Trad AI does not permanently store Customer Content after completion of the translation task unless storage is necessary to provide a feature requested by you, temporary storage is technically necessary to complete processing or enable download, storage is necessary to resolve a support request, storage is necessary to maintain security, prevent abuse or investigate misuse, storage is required by applicable law, or you explicitly enable or request storage.

Trad AI may retain account data, billing data, subscription records, token usage data, workspace metadata, technical logs, security logs and support records as necessary for account administration, billing, fraud prevention, security, service reliability, legal compliance and support.

Further information is provided in our Privacy Policy.

10. AI transparency and EU AI Act

Trad AI is designed to support compliance with applicable AI transparency, data protection and risk-management requirements, including requirements under the EU AI Act where applicable.

Users are informed that translations and related outputs generated through the Service are AI-assisted machine translation outputs.

The Service is intended to support translation workflows and does not make automated decisions about individuals that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

Users remain responsible for reviewing output, applying human oversight and determining whether the output is appropriate for the intended purpose.

11. Third-party AI providers

The Service may rely on third-party AI model providers, infrastructure providers and API services.

Third-party provider availability, model behaviour, model capabilities, data handling, retention, rate limits, usage limits and pricing may change over time.

Trad AI may update supported models, technical configurations, processing workflows or provider integrations to maintain service quality, security, compliance and commercial viability.

Where third-party AI providers process Customer Content, such processing is governed by the applicable provider terms, data processing arrangements and configuration used for the relevant plan.

12. Website analytics and cookies

The Website may use strictly necessary cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service, maintain sessions, secure accounts and provide core functionality.

Where required by law, non-essential cookies are used only after you have given consent through the cookie banner or consent management interface.

We may use Google Analytics for website performance and usage analytics, subject to user consent where required by applicable law.

We do not currently use Google Ads, remarketing, advertising audiences or marketing cookies.

If Google Ads, remarketing, advertising audiences or marketing cookies are introduced in the future, they will be activated only after the user has provided explicit prior consent where required by law.

Further information is provided in our Cookie Policy.

13. Intellectual property

You retain rights in your Customer Content.

Subject to applicable law and third-party provider terms, you own the translations and other outputs generated for you through the Service.

Trad AI does not claim ownership of your Customer Content or generated translations.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the legal right to submit Customer Content and to use, publish, distribute, sell, sublicense or otherwise exploit any generated translation.

If the source material is protected by copyright, confidentiality, trade secret, database rights, contractual restrictions or other rights, you are responsible for confirming that translation and use of the resulting output is lawful.

14. Service availability

Trad AI aims to provide a reliable Service, but does not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free or continuously available access.

The Service may be unavailable, delayed, limited or degraded due to maintenance, updates, high demand, infrastructure issues, third-party provider outages, model unavailability, security events, legal or regulatory requirements, payment issues, account restrictions or force majeure events.

Trad AI is not responsible for losses caused by temporary unavailability, delays, failed processing, file-conversion issues or third-party provider outages, except where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.

15. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Trad AI is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive or exemplary damages arising from inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable translations, reliance on unreviewed AI-generated output, failure to perform human review, misuse of the Service, unlawful Customer Content, loss of data, service interruption, third-party provider issues, token usage estimates differing from actual usage, publication or distribution of unreviewed output, or professional, legal, medical, financial, regulatory or commercial decisions made using generated output.

Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
